Any practice that is a verb based on well defined method and process that incorporated self-correction and self-improvement cannot be compatible with static belief based practices. And therefore, science and religion cannot be converged and integrated. Doing otherwise, would not only be counterproductive but rather wrong head as stated by the author. However, science and naturalness-spiritual development and practices can converge and integrate. As mentioned in the book, it would be counterproductive to integrate science and Buddhism (as a religion) since the knowledge can be shallow, narrow, closed mildness, hidden context, difficult to decode, and or false mainly due to these were ancient ideas, beliefs, or experience expressed through ancient mind and languages were compiled among cultures and traditions over centuries and millenniums through non-scientific method and non-empirical data (and as well as social, economical, cultural, civil, political, and traditional constructs and conditions over the centuries and millenniums). And lacking of complementary living practice, experience, and wisdom of the essence, nature, and ground of being. And nature.
Furthermore, since the sources or origin of religion were derived from naturalness-spiritual ways of life and practices along with adapted of such as social, economical, cultural, civil, political, traditional, and environmental conditions and factors over the centuries and millenniums; it would be proper and rational to integrate science and naturalness-spiritual rather than with religion. However, almost all or the vast majority confused and or could not properly distinguish between naturalness, spiritual, naturalness-spiritual, and religion. And much have to do with hidden and forbidden knowledge and practices over the millenniums. And as well as social and cultural constructs, conditions, and constrains.
As an example, many scientific theories and development based on religious ideas or beliefs such as big bang and string theories have been falsified while quantum mechanics (more or less was also influenced by religious ideas) is very shallow and narrow. However, integrating Buddhism (as naturalness-spiritual wisdom development and practices through the scientific method (rather than as religion) as exemplified through the Nalanda tradition) with science would greatly strengthen and complement both.
Integral of Eastern and Western naturalness-spiritual development and practices as suggested in the book would be meaningful since they can be considered as humanity wisdom practices. And as well as would foster and result in such as meaningful correlation, knowledge, inclusiveness, wisdom, and common and greater good through diversity, pluralism, number, and collaboration. However, the efforts should not stop there. And as well as all are parts of humanity wisdom practices or skillful means. BAnd therefore, would further expand and enhance potentiality of possibilities as well as foster communal and social harmony, collaboration, and common and greater good.
And as such, such inspirations, aspirations, emancipation, collaborations, and efforts need to be inspired, encouraged, supported, and facilitated. And along with complementary resources and means would best help bring out and advance or accelerate meaningful and essential knowledge, practices, and wisdom.
