Based on recorded human experience over the many millenniums. And in particularly the past few modern centuries (i.e. not only better recorded through available means and resources. Rather, also much higher and growing diversity, pluralism, and numbers of experience. And as well as better extrapolated, interpolated, and correlated), observable and non-observable phenomena and experience such as extraordinary senses; psychokinesis; telepathy; clairvoyance; diverse transcendence experience; terminal lucidity; individual and collective shared transcendence, OBE, and NDE experience; shared past life experience; experience of spiritual realms and worlds; and in particularly, when in many cases such as NDE, both heart and mind functionality could not be detected with present technology; indicated beyond any doubt that the body-mind is of many sentient composite body-mind system. And the existence of subtle body-mind or emerging spirit-soul transition potentialities of possibilities beyond known physical world.  

Furthermore, they are now strengthen and complement by emerging sciences of dark or not yet observable or immaterial spectra-field (and eventually unified spectra-field), entanglement, and emergence or empirical evidence that support such sentient epistemic and ontic perception and experience through universal process of being and becoming. And as such, consider body-mind as many sentient composite body-mind system. And the real self as subtle body-mind or emerging spirit-soul potentialities of possibilities as part of sum of parts of the greater whole universal process of being and becoming would make mysteries and problems that are now and forever impossible, very much feasible or possible. Beside, would greatly strengthen and  accelerate the epistemology and ontology quest. And in paricularly, the more evolved a sentient species, the more mysteries of life and existence topology, structure, function, process, mechanism, and order are embedded and embodied in such sentient.

Another simpler way of saying is through universal process of being and becoming as parts of sum of parts of the greater whole in the local and non-local cosmos, sentient developed such omni-sentient, omni-present, and omni-potent (as examples of evolution from simple organisms to primitive sentient to more and more evolved sentient. And beyond) potentialities of possibilities supported and facilitated by the greater whole. And as such, also implied that altering sentient natural and essential body-mind elements, environment, and process and mechanism of being and becoming would alter sentient in the local and non-local cosmos.
