On going human DNA alteration and patenting can lead to alteration and patenting the human genome and nature. And therefore, can lead to many counterproductive and harmful practices and results such as: 1.0 Improper or harmful alteration that can be disastrously and or irreversible in the known physical world. And beyond. 2.0 The human genome does not only pertain to the known physical world. Rather, beyond or is emerging universal genome facilitates by nature through the dynamic process of being and becoming. 3.0 Patenting also implied owning. And therefore, patenting DNA and genome can imply owning DNA, genome (and since genome is universal, can imply patenting or owning genome beyond known physical world), and aspect of nature as well. 4.0 If not disastrous and or irreversible, can lead to physical-mental or body-mind degeneration, illnesses, and diseases. And therefore, unwanted or negative human conditions, experience, and potentials. 5.0 Can lead to existential risks. and among other living and development issues such as social, economical, civil, cultural, and political. And which could easily lead to harm, injustice, and sufficing in the known physical world. And beyond. Presently, there is no well defined laws and regulations to monitor, protect, safeguard, and defend against such practices as well as human (and sentient) rights and dignity. And for the common and greater good. And therefore, meaningful laws and regulations are essential. And which implies meaningful and essential epistemology and ontology explorations and quests are essential and urgent. And therefore, are great causes, reasons, and opportunities for the individual and collective or global community. |
